


Hints of Gladness January 25, 2023
The gentle movement and sound of the creek.
The mossy coat of green around the base of a tree.
An owner and a dog walking along the railroad tracks and the unspoken communication between them.
Sips of morning coffee. This is becoming a thing. Always sips of morning coffee.
Thoughts…
I think this way of starting my day is healthy (thank you captain Obvious) by looking for things and being open to things that give me joy. Also, starting the day by grounding myself in presence and being present to Presence.

Watching the tide ever so gently come in.
Mountain mist shapeshifts in the hills across the bay.
An eagle dives down and captures its breakfast on the bay. I’m standing with a couple of trail buddies when it happens and we go and see if we can get a bit of a closer look. (Video)
Contemplation…
My existential question for the morning is, how do I practice healthy spirituality? As a recovering evangelical Christian, how do I avoid falling into unhealthy practices and spiritual beliefs again? I still believe that there’s a place for spirituality in my life. I’m on a quest to live that out and learn and connect with others who are on this journey too…
